Band's parade performance two years in the making

Updated: Tue 6:42 PM, Mar 12, 2013

WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - An Eastern Kentucky high school band is still feeling the effects from deadly storms that hit the state last March.

While a tornado didn't hit Wolfe County, hail caused lots of damage to the school. So much damage, band members weren't able to play and perform together in March. Now the marching band takes its first steps since then to preform in Lexington's Saint Patrick's Day Parade.

The Wolfe County Band will hold the coveted spot as honor band, the main music attraction of the parade.

"Since we're doing it this year it's kind of like redemption I suppose and being in the honor band is very special," notes student Morgan Henson.

You can watch them perform in downtown Lexington Saturday afternoon.
