LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - On Limestone Street, you don't have to look far to see blue as Pazzo's manager, Brindon Hall, noted, "This campus has just transformed with March Madness and all of the blue around here, it's a great time of year."
Come Saturday night, blue may be the only thing you can see as thousands of fans will flood into the bars and restaurants to watch Kentucky play Wisconsin in the Final Four. With that many people expected, all of the bars on the block are making their last minute preparations for those coming.
"We've been here all day setting this up, and the TV is getting delivered at 10 a.m. tomorrow, so we'll get everything set up by then," explained Justin Stephen, of Tin Roof, who is referring to the large projection screen that will be set up so everyone can see the game.
There's just one question: What channel do you catch the game on?
"Since it's not on CBS, we'll probably do a little Kentucky flavored (broadcast)," answered Stephen, "but we're probably going to base it off what the customers want."
Stephen is referring to a first ever opportunity that will allow the Final Four game to have a more regional flavor. The national broadcast will be on TBS, but Cat fans can listen in to a few Kentucky voices in WKYT's Dave Baker and Rob Bromley, alongside former UK star, Rex Chapman call the game on TNT. A broadcast team from Wisconsin will also be calling the game on TruTV.
"We're going to go with TNT with the local newscasters," said Hall, adding, "It's pretty cool to have some local newscasters and a former UK Player, so it should be awesome."
Regardless of what channel you catch the game on, one thing will stay the same and that's the support the Big Blue Nation will show to the Cats.
So with extra kegs, glasses, and plenty of Big Blue cheer Limestone is ready to greet their guests.
