Beshear drops in for visit with Pence in Indiana

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has paid a visit to Indiana Gov. Mike Pence to discuss issues of mutual interest, including the ongoing work to construct bridges across the Ohio River to connect the two states at Louisville.

Pence's office tweeted a photo of the two governors chatting in the Indiana Statehouse on Wednesday.

Beshear said in a statement that Kentucky and Indiana have a lot in common and that working together can pay off for citizens of both states. The two hadn't talked face-to-face since they sat together at President Barack Obama's inauguration earlier this year.

Pence, a Republican who served in Congress for 12 years, was elected Indiana governor last year. Beshear, a Democrat, is in his second term in Kentucky.
