Big surprise for high school band - invitation to perform in California

Lafayette High School's marching band, The Pride of the Bluegrass, has won 16 state championships, performed across the nation, but there's one place they haven't been. And they got the invitation to go Friday night.

The Pride of the Bluegrass has been invited to perform in the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade in California. Kentucky hasn't been represented in the parade since 1993.

"We worked so hard for the past two seasons and this just proves whether we win state or not, we've accomplished so much more than all the other bands in the state. It's really all paying off right now," said band member Joseph Browning.

The band consists of 200 members.
