No matter what you believe, most can agree one new billboard on New Circle Road in Lexington is turning heads.

It's a shock to some with it being posted in the Bible belt.

"It needs to come down. It should have never went up," said Tiffany Dillard, who is against the billboard's message.

But those behind the billboard say it was not meant to offend anyone.

"It doesn't threaten anybody's position, it doesn't say that anybody's wrong, and it certainly doesn't try to convert anybody," said Clay Maney, who is the spokesperson for Bluegrass Coalition of Reason.

Bluegrass Coalition of Reason houses many groups, and the spokesman says this is simply advertising to get others to join.

But telling that to people who believe in a god or a higher being is a different story.

"I think the sign is an absolute disgrace. Who in their right mind would think about putting up a sign like that? Its crazy!" said one man who saw the sign driving by.

For now, the sign remains.

"I don't know a nicer way we could have put the billboard up there. I can't apologize for it," said Maney.

The billboard was posted on Thursday, and the spokesman for Bluegrass Coalition of Reason says since then they have received both positive and negative feedback.

The group also says this billboard was posted ahead of a convention scheduled for October 6 on the UK campus.
