Body found along roadside in Northern Kentucky identified

ERLANGER, Ky. (WKYT) - A body found along the side of the road in Erlanger Saturday morning is still under investigation.

Erlanger Police received a call around 8:30 am for reports of a body lying in the grass alongside the 2800 block of Erlanger Crescent Springs Road.

A Duke Energy crew made the discovery.

When arriving on scene, police found a female, who has now been identified as 29 year old, Lauren Pettit, and who appeared to have been struck by an unknown vehicle while walking along the road.

The time frame of the accident is currently unknown.

Erlanger Investigations and Accident Reconstruction are on scene collecting evidence.

Police say Erlanger Crescent Springs Road commonly has people walking along the shoulder going to and from the Erlanger and Crescent Springs area.

Police are asking If anyone who may have seen anything or who may have been in the area and struck what they thought was an animal crossing the dark roadway, to contact the Erlanger Police.
