CYNTHIANA, Ky. (WKYT) - Harrison County Sheriff Bruce Hampton is calling an accident over the weekend a drowning. A body was found on the Licking River in Cynthiana Saturday night.
The body was identified as Anthony Clem, 53, of Georgetown. He was found floating down the river on an inflatable kiddie pool.
Sheriff Hampton tells WKYT two fisherman found Clem's body.
His cause of death is considered a drowning at the moment. An investigation is underway to figure out how he could have drowned, but was still found in the inflatable pool. No foul play is suspected.
We're told Clem was in Harrison County to visit family, and often frequents the river.
"He would come to Cynthiana to visit his brother, that's usually where his brother will find him. Just hanging out in that area," said Hampton.
Clem may have had a medical condition that could have lead to the accident, a report from the medical examiner's office is pending.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the accident.
