Boy bit by neighbor's dog in backyard

A young boy is in the hospital after being bit by his neighbor's dog.

The incident happened Saturday night at a duplex on Spangler Drive.
The boy was out in his side of the backyard, when his neighbor's pit bull came toward him.

The dog was on a chain, but it was long. The dog was able to bite the boy on the arm.

The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment of a puncture wound.

Police say the owner was cited for not having the proper chain on the dog. The dog will remain with the owner.
