LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The field for the women's NCAA basketball tournament is being announced today.
The No. 10/11 Kentucky women’s basketball team will host a NCAA Selection Show Party in Memorial Coliseum. Fans are welcome to join head coach Matthew Mitchell and his Wildcats as they await their seeding for their 11th NCAA Tournament berth, including school-record fifth in a row.
The program will be shown live on the big screen and doors will open to the general public at 6 p.m. with the selection show airing on ESPN at 7 p.m.
Connecticut and Notre Dame will enter the tournament as unbeaten teams.
The Huskies, who are looking for a record ninth NCAA championship, are 34-0 and winners of the American Athletic Conference tournament.
Notre Dame is 32-0 and champions of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.
For the first time in program history, Kentucky has been selected to host the First and Second Rounds of the 2014 NCAA Tournament in the storied Coliseum.
The games will be held Saturday, March 22 at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Monday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The women's NCAA basketball tournament comes to an end in Nashville, Tenn., on April 8.
