Inmate escapes Breckenridge County jail

On Friday, August 31, 2012 at approximately 3:00 p.m. ET, David Dowell, 51, of Hardinsburg escaped from the Breckinridge County Detention Center.

Dowell was part of a work detail and was at the detention center folding a tarp when he simply walked away. Dowell was serving time for a probation violation on a Burglary and Assault charge and had approximately 7 months left on his sentence.

Dowell has relatives in Breckinridge County and is believed to still be in the area. Dowell is described as a white male, 6’0”, 180 lbs., brown hair, blue eyes.
