LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- A program that introduces musical theater to children is back this year for an encore performance.

The "Broadway Buddies" program is returning to the Lexington Opera House.

On Thursday, around 30 children who are taking part in the program gathered for a lesson on theatre etiquette.

They'll get to see "Catch Me If You Can" at The Opera House next Thursday.

"It's important that our youth today understand that the living arts, the performing arts are vital and important. They're very very different than what they see on the movie screen or the sports arena or on the concert stage," said program director, Luanne Franklin.

Organizers say without this program these children wouldn't get to see live theatre. They'll also receive a backstage seminar.
