Burglar hits Lexington woman with bottle, takes off

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman, asleep on a couch in her living room, woke up to find a burglar.

Police were called to a home on Buckhorn Drive around 3:30 Tuesday morning. The woman says she spotted the masked man, who was dressed in all black, and confronted him.

According to police, the burglar then threw a Snapple bottle at the woman and hit her. The burglar took off. Police used a K-9 unit to track the suspect, but the man's scent ended on a near-by street.

The victim was treated on scene for a minor injury, but was not taken to the hospital.

Police say this appears to be an isolated incident.
