LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) Some burglars targeted a Lexington church and stole equipment used by its youth group.

The pastor of True Life Assembly of God on Kingston Road says the burglars stole thousands of dollars in audio equipment from the youth building.

All is peaceful now at True Life Assembly of God church but for Pastor Anthony Martin, last Wednesday was a day for figuring out what got left behind.

“Our keyboard on this stand here was stolen and then we had a couple of PA speakers that were sitting on the ground and those were stolen,” Martin told us.

The thieves were somehow able to pry open one of the building’s front windows and climb in.

The pastor isn't sure if this burglary was targeted or random but he says recently there have been other burglaries in the exact same area. “A church down the road one of their vans was broken into not long ago.”

But Martin continues to keep his head up and see the silver living in this unfortunate situation. “Overall, I’ve learned that all things work together for good.” Now, the pastor now plans to take steps and keep a diligent eye out to make sure nothing else gets swiped.

Pastor Anthony Martin plans to buy the youth ministry group another keyboard and PA system in the near future.
