LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The community responded after WKYT aired a story two weeks ago about the city's carbon monoxide detectors that stopped working.

A Richmond business owner saw our story, and decided to help.

Robert White of AirEconomics has donated money to the fire department to pay for new detectors.

"Found out through that news report that they were needing help with those funds. They were writing grants and things like that. So I thought, well maybe we could save them that pain and just go ahead and help them out. And we're happy to do it," Robert White, President of AirEconomics told WKYT.

Another donation to the Lexington Fire Department will be able to buy carbon monoxide detectors for fire trucks as well.
