LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Work starts Monday in Bullitt and Jefferson counties where median cable barriers will be installed on a seven-mile stretch of Interstate 65.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the new barriers will run from north of Kentucky 44 in Bullitt County to three-quarters of a mile north of I-265 in Jefferson County. The area is from mile point 116.9 to 123.9.
The cabinet says the George B. Stone Co. of Sharpsburg won the contract for $694,780.
The project is to be completed Aug. 30. During construction, lane closures will be possible Sundays through Thursdays between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. Shoulders may be closed during daytime hours. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.
