LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky coach John Calipari said he didn't know what to expect when his team headed for Notre Dame Thursday night. He said the same thing Friday afternoon as his team prepared for a quick turnaround against Baylor.
Calipari said Thursday, "No, I have no idea what to expect." Cal went on to say he's learning about his team and the schedule has been tough. "It's November, it'll be December 1st and we've had Notre Dame on the road, Duke, Maryland and Baylor a team that could go for a hundred."
Calipari said the surprising thing about the loss to Notre Dame was his team didn't compete and battle. He didn't blame it all on his players. "Ya know, it's not all them. We haven't figured it out, we need to play the two bigs more and we've got to figure out how we are gonna play when we do it. We need to get Archie at two-guard also, so we can get up ahead of the break."
The Cats return home Saturday to meet Baylor and Cal expects a tough test. "This will be an interesting game, this will be a really hard game for us. Jackson, their big people, they're gonna get after it. Will we be tentative because we got beat? Ya know, this is a tough one, it's what we need.
