Calipari sees players sacrificing

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - John Calipari liked the way his team played Tuesday night at Ole Miss. He saw his players sacrificing for each other, something hes been calling for all season.

"The locker room had energy after the game." said Calipari. "I said you had fun because you played fast, you played aggressive and you were into each other."

Calipari said it's hard to sacrifice and give up. "Are you gonna give up as much as I give up? Or am I the only one giving up, and it becomes that inner dialogue and that fight from within to get 'em to all lay it out there for each other."

Freshman guard James Young said his team has come a long way. "From the beginning we were like 16 individuals playing on the team but now we're coming closer together, we're like one big team. It was kind of hard for us to get to know each other and know each other's personnel but we know each other now."

Kentucky returns to Rupp Arena Saturday hosting LSU. Tipoff is at 4:00 p.m. on ESPN.
