LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Asked if he was happy Monday afternoon, UK coach John Calipari said he was. "Yeah, team's making progress, team's making progress and that's all I can ask." Coming off Saturday's 75-53 win over Auburn, Kentucky heads to Alabama Tuesday night.

After beating Tennessee last week, Calipari said his team wasn't going to "whomp" anybody. Things changed as the Cats face the challenge of playing 4 out of 5 games on the road. "It was hard to imagine," Calipari said Monday. At Auburn, Kentucky showed the intensity and teamwork to dominate and he liked the chest-bumping his team showed Saturday night. "It's hard to chest-bump when you're getting sand kicked in your face, you're getting thrown to the floor and they're grabbing balls out of your hand."

Nerlens Noel was named SEC Freshman of the Week for his play against Tennessee and Auburn. Noel averaged 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6.5 blocked shots in the two games. The 6-10 big man saw progress over the weekend. "Just beating them by that much, I mean, definitely know we're capable of it. Especially the execution down the stretch, we know we're capable of being a disciplined team when we need it."

Calipari singled out Archie Goodwin for his performance against the Tigers. "Archie Goodwin played the best game hes played all year, why? Because he didn't take eight bad shots. If he had made two free throws that he missed, he would have scored almost as many as he scores, taking all those bad shots."

Kentucky is likely to again be without freshman Willie Cauley-Stein. Cauley-Stein missed Saturday's game after undergoing undergoing a procedure on his knee. Tipoff for Kentucky-Alabama is 9:00 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN.
