LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - UK coach John Calipari has often referred to the Kentucky program as the "gold standard". The Cats new locker room in Rupp Arena is exactly that.
Cameras were allowed to tour the renovated area today which is four to five times the size of the old locker room, nearly 20,000 square feet. Included is a locker room for assistant coaches, a classroom to watch video and a private office for Calipari. The locker room is highlighted by the floor from the Superdome, on which the Cats won their 8th NCAA title last year.
Funding for the $3.1 million project was raised largely by Calipari and the facility can be used by other UK sports.
