CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Campbellsville Police say an investigation into a possible burglary ring began on July 6, after someone stole about $10,000 worth of items from a safe inside a home.
"Everything from jewelry to US currency, including guns," said Sgt. David Tucker of the Campbellsville Police Department.
Police say it appears the burglars pried open a back door while the people who live there were out of town.
"We believe that the individuals knew they wouldn't be home and decided to go to the residence at the time they wouldn't be there," Tucker said.
Police say the investigation has grown across Kentucky and even into Tennessee. They arrested Jennifer Bennett on a burglary charge on July 17 and are looking for others in connection with the case: Brittany Rednour, who police believe is in the Campbellsville or Lebanon area; Steven Garrett of Crossville, Tennessee, and Felicia Simpson. Investigators believe the group could be responsible for other thefts from Lexington to Tennessee.
