Rounds of showers and storms continue to push across the region. Flash flooding is the main threat tonight into Wednesday.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - An Earth Day event at the new Capitol Education Center in Frankfort will feature green schools and alternative-energy cars.
The event will be Monday from 10 a.m. to noon EDT.
The event will recognize 2013 Kentucky Green Ribbon School award winners Locust Trace AgriScience Farm in Fayette County; Cane Run Elementary in Jefferson County; and Northern Elementary in Scott County.
Also featured will be Kentucky's 200th ENERGY STAR school, Caneyville Elementary School in Grayson County, and Kentucky's Green & Healthy schools, which are Pikeville High School and West Hardin Middle School in Hardin County.
Visitors can also see a solar-powered car from the University of Kentucky and Chevy Volts used by the Department for Environmental Protection.
The Capitol Education Center is located next to the Governor's Mansion.
