LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Diners and workers at a Lexington restaurant got a scare when a car crashed into the building. It happened around 2 p.m. at the Roosters located at Man O' War Boulevard and Nicholasville Road.

Investigators on the scene say the accident happened after the driver was leaving the car wash at a nearby gas station. His car suddenly accelerated, launched over an embankment, and then crashed into the front of the restaurant. Customers say they can't believe what they saw.

"It's like he was flying and he just went right into the windows," said Becky Burkley, a customer there at the time of the accident. "We talked to him and he said he was alright. He doesn't really know what happened."

No one inside the restaurant was injured in the accident, and the driver wasn't transported to the hospital, only complaining of shoulder pain. Also, Roosters was open to customers just after the accident. Only the damaged dining area was closed.

The Fayette County Health Department was also called to the scene.
