GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Georgetown Police say they now have one man in custody in connection with burglaries at three Lexington businesses.

Officers there found a truck behind Georgetown Middle School this morning set on fire, the same truck investigators believe is linked to the Lexington burglaries.

Georgetown Police Chief Mike Bosse tells WKYT that three juveniles contacted police early this morning to tell them that a truck was on fire. Chief Bosse says the truck they found was stolen from Scott County earlier this week.

"The truck we found set on fire this morning was actually stolen from here earlier this week. We've now connected this truck with three separate crimes in Lexington. The first one being the burglary in Lexington off Winchester Road at Sarah's Corner Cafe. The burglar backed their truck into the store and stole cartons of cigarettes. The same thing happened on Thursday at the Mini Food Mart off East Loudon. We are also connecting this truck to the burglary at the Red Cross on Tuesday where the burglar shot at a retired safety officer as he tried to get away. This is a huge break in a string of crimes that have been affected Lexington businesses."

Georgetown Police are working with Lexington Police to review all the evidence and surveillance video.
