Updated: Fri 2:49 PM, Nov 23, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A driver now faces charges after slamming his car into the front of a Lexington nail salon Thursday morning. The business had a large hole in the front of the building after the crash.

Police have charged 29-year-old Jessie Taylor with DUI, criminal mischief, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance and possession of a handgun by a felon.

A witnesses says Taylor hit a curb in the parking lot, outside Nina Nails, and went airborne, into the business.

"He was gassing it and he just kept straight, he hit the curb and he went airborne," said Brock Williams who was coming out of a nearby business when the crash happened.

Williams says the driver never let off the gas before hitting the building.

Taylor was taken to the hospital with what police say was non life-threatening injuries. He's now in jail.

Witnesses say it appeared the driver still had his foot on the gas after the car ended up inside the building. No one else was hurt. The business was closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.
