LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An attempted robbery turned violent, after gunmen shattered a car window.

It happened just after 11:00 p.m. Tuesday. Lexington police say three men and a woman, in the 19's or 20's, were sitting in a car on Hartland Parkway, near Rothbury Road.

Before they got out of the car, the victims told police another car pulled up in front of them, blocking them in. That's when police say three masked men, two armed with guns, approached the victim's car and demanded cash. One of the gunmen used the weapon to shatter the victim's driver's side window.

Police say the gunman later took off, with out stealing anything. No one was hurt.

Lexington police say the victims later admitted to police they were there to collect money from a drug deal.
