CARROLL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Carroll County man has been arrested after police say he caused the death of his young son.
Kentucky State Police arrested Douglas Allen, 26, and charged him with the February 19th death of his two-year-old son.
State Police say the child's mother reported finding the child dead in his bed just before 7 a.m. that morning. A toxicology report later showed that the boy had extremely high levels of Oxycodone in his system at the time of his death.
Detectives say after an interview with Allen they believe he allegedly gave his son the narcotic on the night before, which caused the child's death.
Allen was arrested at the Kentucky State Police post in Cambellsburg and is being lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.
