The flash flood threat increases late tonight and into Friday. 1"-4" will be felt for most through Saturday.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Heavy rains caused flash flooding on a road during the afternoon rush hour in the Hamburg area.
It happened on Thursday near Star Shoot Parkway in Lexington.
Drivers say the rain came down so fast they could barely see the road.
"You should never drive through standing water. Several places in Lexington have that. The best thing to do is wait or take an alternate route," Major Joe Madden, with the Lexington Fire Dept., says.
Firefighters were called to the scene to help with stranded cars but they tell us no one had to be rescued and no one was injured.
We're also told the weather has since gone back down.
