Carter County man charged with shooting wife

ASHLAND, Ky. (WKYT) - The Kentucky State Police have arrested a Carter County man after investigating a domestic violence related shooting.

On Saturday, at approximately 9:44 am the Olive Hill Police Department responded to Eastland Drive for a domestic dispute. Upon arriving, police found Lisa Tackett, age 49, with a single gunshot wound to the neck. At that time Olive Hill Police Department contacted Kentucky State Police.

During the course of the investigation, detectives determined that Tackett and her husband had gotten into an argument, which became physical. According to detectives, her husband, Robert Tackett, shot her.

Police arrested Robert Tackett on Monday. He's charged with Attempted Murder - Domestic Violence and being held in the Carter County Detention Center.

Mrs. Tackett was transported to a medical facility for treatment and currently is in stable condition.
