Casey Co. family without answers 4 years after man vanished

KINGS MOUNTAIN, Ky. (WKYT) - 18 Cochran Road still has the same name on its mailbox, the same bell on its porch..and the same questions as to what happened to the man who used to live

“But I know whoever did it I just pray their conscience wouldn’t let them rest until they have to come forward and tell what they did,” said Shirley Austin.

Austin and her sister Freda Elmore are holding out hope something will crack open the mystery of where their 55 year old brother Charles Randolph is.

“And why it happened. And what happened. We think on it all the time,” said Elmore.

Randolph’s family has pretty much given up hope he’ll ever be found alive. So they erected a tombstone hoping one day they’ll have a body to put beneath it..

“Wish we could find something. Just like to know where his body is at. Can have a burial. Might not be complete closure but some closure,” said Elmore.

Relatives say they were signs of a struggle in his front yard. DNA tests were court ordered on a white SUV Randolph may have been in.

“I don’t know if Charles was in there, there was any blood evidence or whatever if he was in that vehicle, that could tell if he was,” said Austin.

His family leans on their faith, their community and each other to get them through what has been a very trying time.

“As the Bible says we can’t understand everything… but we’ll understand everything by and by,” said Austin.

The family does have a 10-thousand dollar reward that will be paid to whoever provides them the answers to Randolph’s whereabouts.

The Casey County Sheriff’s office is investigating. If you have any information, you can call them at 606-787-6821.
