Cauley-Stein named SEC Freshman of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky's Willie Cauley-Stein has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week.

The 7-foot center averaged 13.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and five blocks in wins over Vanderbilt and Missouri.

Against Vandy, Cauley-Stein scored a career-high 20 points.

In an overtime win against Missouri Saturday night, Cauley-Stein altered the game defensively with a career-high seven blocked shots. His 12 rebounds against the tigers tied his career-high and it marked only the third game in his career with double-figure rebounding.

Kentucky's Nerlens Noel, Archie Goodwin and Alex Poythress have all been named SEC Freshman of the Week previously this season.
