Central Ky. attorney disbarred for misconduct

Posted: Thu 2:15 PM, Dec 20, 2012

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A central Kentucky attorney facing 12 disciplinary cases has been permanently banned from practicing law in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Supreme Court on Thursday ordered Rocky McClintock of Georgetown to notify all clients within 10 days of his disbarment. Chief Justice John D. Minton also wrote that McClintock may not reapply for admission to practice law in Kentucky in the future.

McClintock admitted in disciplinary proceedings that he took part in a pattern of misconduct involving taking thousands of dollars from clients, then failing to follow through with representation. McClintock told the Kentucky Bar Association he suffers from physical and mental health conditions that make it unlikely he will practice law again.

The high court levied $1,580 in costs against McClintock as well.
