Centre's night in the spotlight

DANVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A year's worth of planning culminated tonight with Vice President Joe Biden and Paul Ryan laying out their cases to the American voters.

Centre College hopes the success with the debate Thursday night will help them once again land another shot at the national spotlight. WKYT's political editor Bill Bryant says this is something we can all be proud of.

"This has been a wonderful day, you cannot buy this kind of publicity that Kentucky has gotten from this. What a wonderful day for Danville and for Centre College and putting this all together today. There will be a lot of good vibes come out of Danville," said Bill Bryant.

Now Centre will look ahead to vying for their chance at another Thrill in the Ville, this time number three. Centre knows that this debate, unlike most vice presidential debates, may hay played a key point in this presidential election.

"This got attention because obviously the polls are close now and it's interesting point in the campaign. And Kentucky, which is not a battleground state, has not seen visits by the campaign this year so Kentucky got its place on the map tonight," said Bryant.
