GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Georgetown police responded to a scary situation Saturday.
According to Police, a mother was driving with her two children southbound on US 25 outside Georgetown when the backdoor of the woman's car came open and her 19-month-old child fell onto the road.
Police say cars behind them swerved to avoid the child.
The child was taken to the hospital, and according to police is OK.
Georgetown Police say the mother told them the child was in a car seat and had a habit of unhitching child restraints.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been filed.
