Child deaths in car accidents rise

The numbers are up, significantly, for children from 0 to 15 being killed in accidents from last year to this year.
Experts say more often than not, that tragedy can be prevented.

"Well I am frustrated by these numbers, because people act as if this is an inconvenience. And it's really about bringing your child home alive," said Dr. Susan Pollack, with UK Pediatrics.

Just halfway through this year, we've reached the total number of children, 21, from birth to 15 killed from all of 2011.

"So we really, really need everybody in the public to help. Because I don't think most people are aware that the numbers are already so bad this year," said Pollack.

"Things are not doing well and we need to do better and we can. That's the other thing. If we didn't have a way to protect the kids it would be different. But we have a way, we just have to have the will to use it," Pollack continued.
