General showers will be the main action over the next few hours. A few could remain on the strong to severe side in eastern parts of Kentucky.
CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT)- An Eastern Kentucky mother faces charges Wednesday after, police say, she left her two young children alone in a Walmart parking lot.
Manchester police arrested Tabitha Collett, 25, and charged her with child endangerment, and public intoxication.
They say she left her two children, a four year-old and a five-month-old, alone in a truck outside the Manchester Walmart.
Police say an off-duty officer saw the toddler get out of the truck.
"When he seen the child get out and unoccupied, and start running around in traffic, I mean his first response was I need to get that kid before he gets hurt," Chief Patrick Robinson from Manchester Police said.
Police say the five-month-old child was wearing an oxygen mask at the time.
They say when they found Collett, she actually gave them a fake name.
The children are now with social services.
