LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A mother says she's afraid to sleep in her own home after a gunman forced his way inside while her three children were sleeping.
It happened late Sunday night at a home on Boysenberry Drive. The woman told Lexington police a man armed with a gun kicked in her front door and charged at her and two other adults inside the home. The woman, who did not want to be identified, said her friend went to the bedroom, pulled out a gun and fired a single shot at the intruder. Police said the bullet missed the intruder. They found the bullet lodge in the home's wall.
The suspect was described as wearing a blue and gray flannel shirt and a dark bandana over his face.
