A line of strong to severe storms will race across central and eastern Kentucky over the next several hours.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - According to the Wall Street Journal, Cincinnati- Northern Kentucky International Airport is the most expensive airport among the 75 largest U.S. Airports. Louisville International Airport ranked sixth on the list.
"Airfares have gone up everywhere," said Melonie Graves, co-owner of Avant Travel in Lexington. "That's a given." Graves said airline mergers have caused the ticket price increase.
"It used to be Southwest was really inexpensive which drew the market to fly out of Louisville but that's not the case anymore." But Graves said Louisville still beats Cincinnati when it comes to airline bargains, barely. "Cincinnati used to have four terminals. We're down to one in Cincinnati, so Cincinnati is pretty expensive"
Graves said good deals come down to availability and the ability for travelers to be flexible. She said even Cincinnati has potential to have the best bargain in certain situations. "if you can travel during the week, you're going to find more availability."
