NEWPORT, Ky. (AP) - A northern Kentucky county is at odds with nearby cities over how state funding for riverfront development should be spent.

The Kentucky Enquirer reports the dispute came up during a meeting this week of the Campbell County Fiscal Court.

The president of Southbank Partners - an organization that represents businesses, residents and six cities that border the Ohio River - as well as two mayors attended the June 19 meeting to argue that $75,000 in state funding was meant for development along the Ohio River.

Fiscal Court members disagreed with the argument and voted to split the funding. Magistrates voted to give $25,825 to Southbank for Ohio River development and $49,175 for a greenway trail project on the Licking River.
