Clark schools won't combine for now

Posted: Tue 11:14 PM, Feb 19, 2013

CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Tuesday night, the Clark County School Board voted to wait one year before combining two middle schools.

More than 120 people packed the Board of Education auditorium to express their concerns on merging Conkwright Middle School and Clark County Middle School.

Many in the audience said the timeline and curriculum were major factors in why the community wanted the board to reconsider.

Next school year, Conkwright Middle School will be in the old George Rogers Clark High School building.

The schools will be merged together for the 2014-2015 school year.
