Trial for man accused in fatal dorm fire enters final stages

Closing arguments will be held Wednesday in the second trial of a man accused of setting a deadly fire at Murray State University.

Jerry Walker, Jr. is charged with manslaughter, arson, assault, and wanton endangerment. The trial is being held in Marshall County.

Police say he started a fire in a dorm in 1998 that killed student Michael Minger and seriously injured a second student.

Walker's first trial ended in a hung jury in 2001.
