CRANKS, Ky. (AP) - Police have charged a Virginia man with drunken driving after his truck loaded with coal overturned in a yard in southeastern Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police say the driver couldn't handle a turn on US 421 in Harlan County, went off the right side of the road and the truck rolled over. The Harlan Daily Enterprise (http://bit.ly/OOCdgg ) reports the driver, Timothy Shepherd of Pennington Gap, Va., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving.
Officers dispatched to the scene found the truck, a 2005 International Eagle tractor-trailer, on its side and its coal load dumped into the yard. Police said the driver was taking the coal to Louisville.
Shepherd was also charged with failure to maintain insurance card.
