Rounds of showers and thunderstorms continue to develop. These are packed with lightning and torrential rains. A few storms may produce high winds and small hail.
Hello cold air! A few flakes flying across the area early, but that should taper off during late morning. Start off in the teens and try our best to work our way up from there. Our highs today will settle in the mid to upper 30s. To put this into perspective our average high during December and January is around 40 degrees. We will no doubt be lower than that come the afternoon. Going into Friday we will see clouds on the increase as a system works into the western portion of the state. This could spawn a few showers for our southern zones during the day on Friday, but most remain dry with highs in the mid 40s.
Going into the weekend this is when things get interesting. Saturday we will have a shot at rain, mainly for the southern zones. This will not be a washout as only a slight chance of rain is forecast at this time. Sunday continues to appear wet, so it seems likely to have a couch day watching basketball all day long. Once we get into the night on Sunday and moving toward Monday cold air filters in along with moisture and we could be looking at possible snow for Monday and Tuesday. Keep that winter wardrobe handy...
