LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The same people who rank the nation's top party schools also bestowed Transylvania University with the honor of being number one for lots of Greek life while giving Berea College the dubious honor of being among the top 20 campuses with the worst food.
About 130,000 students on 379 campuses were surveyed for The Princeton Review, which contains 62 top-20 lists ranking factors like financial aid awards, athletic facilities and food.
Centre College in Danville made the most flattering top 20 lists of any college in Kentucky. Centre ranked 4th for most popular study abroad program, 13th for most accessible professors, and 16th for best-run college.
In the "Is It Food?" category, Berea College ranked 8th in the country for its campus cuisine. Berea College also ranked 18th in a category ranking the campuses with the fewest number of drinkers. Repeating at the top of "stone-cold sober schools" was Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
The University of Louisville was the only other Kentucky campus to make a top 20 list. On the positive side, the University of Louisville ranked 14th for best athletic facilities, 17th for students packing the stadiums for athletic events, 19th for jocks, and 20th for best health services. On the negative side, the university ranked 17th in the country for professors getting low marks.
The University of Kentucky was among the 379 schools ranked but didn't make any top 20 lists.
