At the University of Kentucky students say they are dealing with their first real snow while class in session. Some of them were prepared for the cold, others have a way to go.
When the snow first started coming down early this morning, it covered cars and grass but only left the roads and sidewalks wet.
"I woke up my roommate, said you have to see this. I was excited to wake up to it," said UK student Taylor Davis. This is her first winter in Kentucky. The California native wasn't sure what to expect when she saw the forecast called for snow.
"I'm really not used to the snow. Coming here was the first time I've seen it, that's why I'm the weirdo out here taking pictures," said Davis.
Other students say the fluctuations in the weather make planning difficult. "Thirty degrees one week, sixty the next, you never know what to expect," said Haley Circeo.
Some students went out in the snow wearing shorts but most bundled up some. They all agree, the mild winter has made a heavy coat almost unnecessary. "I have some warm socks on, that's pretty much it," said Circeo.
