Communities cancel festivities because of weather

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Several communities have already canceled their weekend plans in anticipation of the wintry weather.

The Richmond Christmas parade has been moved to December 13 at 7:00 do to weather conditions.

The Richmond Area Arts Council Breakfast with Santa has been moved to December 14th from 9am - 12pm.

The Frenchburg Christmas parade has also been postponed from Friday night to Saturday night at 6:00 p.m.

The Jessamine County Tree Lighting ceremony has also been canceled for Friday night. Santa will be at the Jessamine County Courthouse Saturday, December 14 for pictures with children.

The city of Versailles has canceled their Christmas tree lighting. It was scheduled to take place tomorrow night. A new date has not yet been set.

Festivities in Laurel County have been postponed as well. The events were scheduled for tomorrow but instead will be moved to December 13 at 7:00 p.m.
