LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The community is stepping up to help a Lexington food bank that was targeted by burglars.
Burglars stole $200 to $300 worth of frozen meat from a freezer at the Food Bank of Central Christian Church. The church's food bank helps God's Pantry hand out food to those in need.
While God's Pantry called the burglary a set back, officials say it didn't take long to replace the stolen goods.
"When things like this happen they are unfortunate but we are really pleased to see the community rally behind God's pantry food bank and support our efforts and mission in families in need," says God's Pantry CEO, Marian Guinn.
So far no arrests have been made in the crime.
