Construction equipment moves into Commonwealth Stadium

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It's a sign that Commonwealth Stadium is about to undergo some big changes.

Construction equipment has been moved into the stadium area for renovations. UK officials say the $110million project will give fans more room in the concourse, and add club seating options. A new game day locker room will be added.

The project will also remove around 6,000 seats. Renovations are expected to be finished by 2015.

With the renovation, UK Athletics released preliminary ticket information for the 2015 football season on Tuesday at

The information includes a seating map with new section numbers and annual K Fund donation levels for the entire seating bowl. A new online seat selection process that will allow every fan to choose the seats that best fit his/her needs will begin in fall 2014. This new seat selection process will be based on K Fund priority ranking as of June 30, 2014. The K Fund priority point system is designed to reward season ticket loyalty and total dollar contributions in support of UK Athletics.

With UK football playing an eight-game home schedule in 2015, season tickets throughout the entire stadium will be priced at $320 each.

Information about the new premium seating areas that will allow fans to enjoy Kentucky football in style was also released. New suites located along the South sideline and boxes in the new lodge area are on sale now, while club seating at the Field and Mezzanine levels will go on sale in fall 2014.
