Updated: Sat 2:22 PM, Oct 27, 2012

Saturday morning KSP responded to a shooting on Big Springs Road in Hardin County. When they arrived they found that a convenience store employee had been shot in the arm.

Around the same time of the incident a man near by stated that an armed man came to his door and pointed a gun in his face and demanded the keys to his car. The man complied and the suspect fled.

Our preliminary investigation revealed that the shots fired came from Carolyn’s Corner Store in Big Springs. The suspect entered the store in an attempt to rob the it. A struggle ensued with the employee over the weapon that the suspect produced. The employee was subsequently shot in the arm and the suspect fled the scene.

The employee was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was treated and transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in serious but stable condition.

As of the time of this release the suspect is still at large. He is described as a white male wearing dark clothing with a white hoodie. He may have fled in a stolen dark blue 1998 Buick LeSabre in an unknown direction.

Although it is likely, it is not certain if the two incidents are related. Our investigation is ongoing.
