Updated: Wed 6:45 PM, Feb 06, 2013

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are searching for a suspect after a violent restaurant robbery.

The robbery happened just after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Great Wall restaurant on Waller Avenue.

Police tell us a masked gunman came in and demanded cash. The cashier at the restaurant tells us the man had a scarf wrapped around his mouth when he walked in, concealing his face, and then pointed the gun at her and demanded cash. One of the cooks inside started wrestling the man. He ran away with their money, and the cashier says she followed him to his getaway car parked behind the restaurant, beside a row of apartments. She tells us a cab driver then tried to stop the getaway car, but the robber escaped.

"He used the gun. He first point at me. I was scared. Just like that he said, 'give me all the money,'" Sharon Jiang explained.

Police are looking for a white man between 40 and 50 years old, around 5'9" and weighing about 160 pounds. The cashier says he was wearing a black cap and a gray scarf.
