Copper stolen from lights along I-75 in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police are investigating the theft of copper along Interstate 75. They say someone took 4,000 feet of copper wiring from lights along the northbound side. It happened around mile marker 11, near the Interstate 64 split.

Officials estimate the total damage at $2,500. This is the fifth such theft since March. The state says it has already spent more than a million dollars repairing damaged lights.
